EVK75023 General Description
Melexis MLX75023 is a QVGA (320x240 pixels) optical Time-of-Flight (ToF) image sensor.
Combined with a modulated light source, this sensor is capable of measuring absolute distances and amplitudes at full resolution. The high dynamic range DepthSenseTM pixels support up to 120 klux background light.
EVK75023 is developed in co-operation with BlueTechnix to evaluate MLX75023 under extreme background light conditions. The kit consist of four main elements. On one side we have a sensor board with 2 separate illumination units connected on the top of the main board. On the other side we find the processor board. This versatile design enables a step by step module replacement while developing the necessary system know how.
A programmable CPLD on the sensor board controls the sensor together with it’s light sources whilst communicating the digitalized sensor output to the Freescale i.MX6 microprocessor. In normal configuration mode the processor operates as a data bridge and transfers the depth & amplitude data to a computer for evaluation.
In advanced development mode the customer can transfer his application software onto the i.MX6 for use as a stand-alone module.
The easy accessible C API can be used to develop your own software interface.
For Matlab enthusiasts an SDK will be available.
