The MPM3684 and MPM3686 are easy-to-use fully integrated 15A and 20A step-down DC/DC power modules operating from 4.5V to 18V input voltage.
They integrate the DC/DC converter, power inductor, input/output capacitors and the necessary resistors and capacitors in a compact QFN 12mmX15mmX4mm package. This total power solution needs as few as two external components (one resistor and one capacitor) to provide the complete working solution.
The MPM3684/MPM3686 can deliver 15A/20A output currents over a wide input supply voltage range with excellent load and line regulation.
An Adaptive Constant-On-Time (COT) control mechanism is used to provide fast transient response and unconditional stability. The parts feature an internal soft star timer of 3ms which can be increased if desired via an external capacitor. An open drain power good signal indicates that the output voltage is within the regulated voltage range.
The MPM3684/MPM3686 have fully integrated protection features that include over-current protection, over-voltage protection and thermal shutdown.
