For consumer fixed-wireless terminals, mobile routers and remote video streaming applications, the TOBY-L2 extends the TOBY-L1 series with dual-stack IPv4/6, embedded TCP/IP, UDP/IP and SSL, and the ability to upgrade the firmware via USB. ISO 16750 qualification provides for a wide variety of in-vehicle infotainment applications, and the very small form-factor and high-speed data rate suits the TOBY-L2 for remote wireless applications in security monitoring, digital signage and mobile health. Network jamming detection and GPS TOBY AssistNow software integration means that time taken locating and fixing failing equipment in the field can be kept to an absolute minimum.
The compact, lightweight design (less than 7g) and rugged operational temperature range (-40ºC to +85ºC), combined with individual production inspection and testing, gives very high-quality performance and reliability in the harshest industrial environments. Where backwards-compatibility is required for 3G and 2G networks, the TOBY-L2 follows the same 152-pin LGA form-factor (25 x 36 x 2.6 mm) for simple migration from existing u-blox W-CDMA, CDMA, GSM modules. USB drivers for Windows 6-8 and RIL software for Android are available. An evaluation kit (EVK-L20/L21) is available.
